[2023 Ramadan Day 25] Jesus will come as King, Saudi Arabia

Updated: Apr 16, 2023

Ramadan is considered the holiest month for the world's 1.9 billion Muslims, a time when they fast during daylight hours, observe five daily prayers, and gather in mosques every evening for spiritual connection and alliance. Many Muslims fulfill a lifelong wish during this time to visit Islam's holy cities of Mecca and Medina, hoping for further spiritual growth.

However, the people of Saudi Arabia, where the holy place of Islam is located, go on pilgrimage avoiding the busy Ramadan period, and when you ask pilgrims how the pilgrimage was, they say that it was just “peaceful” and nothing else. Ramadan has become more of a holiday for family gatherings, relationships and relaxation rather than spiritual growth. The media and news focus on special dramas and entertainment programs for family gatherings rather than programs or articles on how to grow in spiritual connection during Ramadan.

"Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house." <Matthew 12:29>

Recently, we have seen the souls we serve being swayed by the power of Islam and the power of the world. While we desire to see believers grow in faith every day, God has given us a heart to go beyond and see them transformed by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we are preparing an encounter camp for our local believing brothers and sisters during Ramadan.

To combat the spiritual darkness in the Saudi Arabia, the multiethnic church in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Nation Network, and ministries in Saudi Arabia have joined together in a 40-day relay fasting prayer. Through this prayer, we believe that not only in the coming month of Ramadan, but also in this land, the powers of Islam and the world will be broken. We hope that our brothers and sisters may be set free and rise up as disciples who will only follow our Lord.

[Today's Prayer]

1. May these vain obligations of fasting during Ramadan and seeking self-satisfaction and comfort be broken. May the souls of Saudi Arabia rise up to meet the true, living and working God and come to Him in repentance at this time of grace and salvation!

2. As Saudi Arabia is rapidly becoming secularized, we pray that through this 40-day fasting prayer, every falsehood will be broken and You alone will reign as Lord! Let believers experience the Holy Spirit and desire the Kingdom of God on this earth, and let there be a spiritual breakthrough in all ethnic churches in Saudi Arabia to prepare the way for Your coming!
