[Field News] Why is the Pakistani government banning all New Year celebrations?

While the world is busy preparing for New Year's celebrations, the Pakistani government has decided to ban New Year's celebrations in all regions of the country. This is because they stand in solidarity with Palestine, who is suffering from war.

According to Pakistani daily DAWN on the 29th (local time), Prime Minister Anwar ul-Haq Kakar of Pakistan's interim government said in a statement, "The government of Pakistan will hold any kind of New Year-related event across the country to show solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters." We have also decided to strictly ban events,” he said, adding, “Please spend the New Year simply and show solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people.”

He then added that he is preparing for the third shipment of relief goods for humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip and is in close contact with Egypt and Jordan to provide relief goods in a timely manner.

There are other places that have banned New Year's events in solidarity with Palestine.

The government of Sharjah, one of the emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), also announced on the 26th that it would ban fireworks on New Year's Eve as a show of solidarity with residents of the Gaza Strip. Sharjah is the third largest among the seven emirates of the UAE, after Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Sharjah police announced a ban on New Year's events and warned that legal action would be taken against those who violate the ban. This decision is limited to Sharjah and does not apply to other emirates of the UAE.

May the water of life flowing from the throne of the Lamb cover Israel, Palestine, Pakistan, the UAE, and all nations, so that all wars, famines, pain, and sorrow that are continuing to occur even at this moment will end and all nations will be healed.

May all nations come to Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life, and worship Him!
