[Field Story] Disciples of Jesus to Rise Up with the Power of the Gospel in Myanmar

(The photo above is unrelated to the content)

Hi, my name is Jay and I live in Myanmar.

I was born and raised in a family with strong Buddhist beliefs for generations. I grew my hair down to the bottom of my buttocks, handed down by my parents, and lived a religious life, praying to the Buddha in the morning and evening.

When my mom died early and I was left with just my dad, there was a void in my heart that nothing could fill.

Then one day, I was connected to a church that needed a Korean interpreter, and I ended up interpreting for them, so naturally, I started going to church, singing songs and worshiping, and little by little, my heart started to open up to getting to know Jesus.

And I began to think that God's will was in my life to call me to the church as an interpreter.

I am so grateful for God's love that led me to work in the church. I am receiving a lot of love from the pastors and members of the church, and I am learning the love I never received from my parents.

I have not yet accepted Jesus as a person, so please pray with me as I continue to get to know Him more through worship and the Word!

And the third time he saith unto him, Simon, son of John, dost thou love me: and Peter was troubled, and said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things: for thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep; verily, verily, I say unto thee, In thy youth thou hast girded thyself, and gone whither thou wilt: but when thou art old, thou shalt open thine arms, and they shall gird thee, and take thee whither thou wilt not go (John 21:17-18).

Born into a family that did not know God, she diligently practiced the laws taught by Buddhism in order to be saved, but nothing could fill her heart and save her.

However, I am thankful that the Lord loved her so much that He not only opened the way for her to interpret in the church, but also gave her a heart to experience and learn about God's love in the church and to receive Jesus personally.

Just as you called Peter, who was a sinner, and restored him to God's love and renewed him as a disciple who lives for the Lord, please accept with joy my sister's heart that she confessed her desire to know Jesus more, and now grant her the grace to meet and receive Jesus personally, who shed his blood to save her, in the midst of the place where she always meets God.

Also, when she accepts Jesus and lives as a child of God, even if she encounters many hardships and difficulties, she will always go to the word and prayer to know God's heart and will, and she will rise up as a disciple to lead the souls of Myanmar and all peoples who were in darkness like her to Jesus.

May holy young men of Jesus like you rise up among the Myanmar people and go forth with the gospel among all nations!
