[Field Story] Trauma, another war

While the war between Ukraine and Russia broke out in February last year and continued for about two years, the war between Israel and Hamas began. Additionally, thousands of people died due to earthquakes in Afghanistan and floods in Libya. These days, with natural disasters occurring all over the world, it is truly a ‘continuum of war.’ It's not just major disasters like earthquakes or wars between countries.

In these disasters, we receive great ‘trauma’. The word trauma has two meanings. One refers to trauma, that is, physical damage, and the other refers to the psychological shock and aftereffects caused by the disaster.

A disease that causes serious psychological aftereffects such as anxiety, anger, and social avoidance after trauma is called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Trauma is a word that originated in a major disaster situation where life is threatened. There are people who almost die due to war and disaster, and who witness the death of people next to them right in front of their eyes. After war and disaster, the world will find peace again, but those left behind must fight for survival by overcoming trauma.

The former commandment is set aside, because it was weak and unprofitable (for the law perfected nothing); but then a better hope comes, by which we draw near to God. So Jesus became the surety of a better covenant. Therefore he strengthened himself. He is able to save completely those who come to God, because he always lives to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:18-19, 22, 25).

Lord, we continue to hear news of suffering from earthquakes, floods, and wars from all over the nations in the last days.

Many people were killed in wars and disasters, and those who survived suffered trauma-like aftereffects in their own pain and wounds, suffering and struggling as if they were dead even if they were alive.

Father, I confess that You hear the groans of the nations and that You answer each and every sound of pain. Our Jesus, who suffers with them, becomes their only hope.

Please let the Lord's voice of prayer for those suffering from the trauma of war and disaster be heard in the ears of these souls, and shine the light of truth powerfully on them.

May the hearts of souls from all nations melt through the voice of the Lord and the light of truth, so that Jesus Christ, the eternal joy, may be planted in the fields of their hearts.

We especially want to lift in prayer for the souls of Libya, where thousands of people died in the floods and are still undergoing recovery efforts. I pray that you will renew the fields of their hearts through Jesus Christ and raise them into a nation filled with the joy of heaven that cannot be compared to before the flood.

Please help the souls of Libya move forward, praising and believing that Jesus is the true savior who completely solves the world's problems that cannot be solved by our own strength.

In this way, may Libya's confession of overcoming the pain of death resonate among all nations, and may nations suffering like Libya realize Jesus Christ and praise Him together!
