[Today's Prayer] "40 Residents Killed in Rebel Attack in Central Sudan Village"

AFP reported on the 20th (local time) that 40 residents were killed in an attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a rebel group in a civil war with government forces, in a village in central Sudan.

According to local witnesses, the RSF attacked the village of Wad Oshaib, 100km north of Wad Madani, the capital of Al Jazirah(Gezira) Province in central Sudan, the previous evening.

An official at Wadrawa Hospital, located north of Wad Oshaib, said, "All 40 people who died were shot."

In a telephone interview with AFP that day, a local witness said, "The attacks resumed this morning," and "(the RSF) is looting property."

Earlier this month, 120 residents were killed in a two-day attack in the village of Hilaria, and 124 people were killed in the village of Sariha alone in an RSF attack from the 20th to the 25th of last month.

According to the UN, more than 340,000 residents have fled Al Jazirah since October.

In Sudan, bloodshed has continued for over 17 months since the outbreak of armed conflict between government forces and RSF on April 15th of last year.

Tens of thousands of people have died in the conflict between the two sides, and the number of refugees who have fled their homes to escape the violence has exceeded 14 million. It is estimated that close to 3 million of them have fled abroad.

And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. [Luke 6:20-21]

We hear the sad news that precious lives are being sacrificed due to the ongoing civil war in Sudan.

While the government and rebel forces are neglecting the lives of Sudanese souls in order to gain one more acre of territory, our Lord is the one who bestows the eternal kingdom of God upon Sudanese souls. May only Jesus Christ come as the ruler of Sudan, take away all the tears of Sudanese souls, and fill them with the joy and laughter of heaven.

Dear Jesus, please have pity and mercy on the souls of Sudan who have lost their families, jobs, and homes in the endless pain of war and are living each day as refugees. We believe that Jesus, who knows the lowly better than anyone else, is with them in their weary hearts and difficult lives. May they endure these times and be restored in the gospel.

God of the poor, the hungry, and the weeping, may the global church work together to meet and serve the needs of the souls of Sudan. Please open a channel to spread the gospel so that they can hear the gospel of life- the greatest blessing, and obtain the kingdom of God, being spiritually satisfied, and living in eternal joy.

May the Sudan people rise up to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the nations and prepare the way for the Lord’s return.

Sudan, serve the African church and the nations with all your heart, soul, and might!
