[Today’s Prayer] Afghan Taliban: "One Chinese-American and a British couple are being detained"

The Taliban authorities ruling Afghanistan have confirmed that they are detaining a Chinese-American citizen and two British couples.
According to AFP on the 24th (local time), Abdul-Mateen Kani, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, said, "We have detained four people, including two British citizens holding Afghan identity cards, one Chinese and American citizen, and their interpreter."
Spokesperson Kani did not disclose the specific reason for their detention, only explaining that it was due to "certain considerations."
Earlier, the BBC and others reported that Peter Reynolds (79) and his wife Bobbie (75) were arrested and detained on the 1st while returning to their home in Bamiyan, Afghanistan.
The couple is known to have been running an education project in Afghanistan for 18 years.
The Taliban regained power after the US military withdrew from Afghanistan in August 2021, but the international community does not recognize the Taliban as a formal government.
Since taking power, the Taliban has implemented a series of measures that widely violate women's rights, such as banning women from attending middle school and restricting employment.

It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. (Luke 12:37)
God, we hear that the Taliban, the ruling force in Afghanistan, is detaining a Chinese-American and British couple. Would you watch over them and protect them, and guide them to return safely to their families.
We pray that their colleagues, who were captured while running an educational project, will not be deterred from continuing to educate Afghan women in the face of the Taliban's attempts to prevent them from using their God-given gifts by restricting their access to education and employment.
Now that the Afghan Taliban government's promises of equal opportunities for women have been proven false, let the light of truth shine among the Taliban and bring them to repentance.
May the churches You have prepared in Afghanistan remain faithful in the face of Taliban threats and oppression, and may the gospel be preached so that Afghan women may enjoy the true freedom and rights You have given them. May the Afghan church be an awake church, holding on to the Word and overcoming until You return.
And may the Afghan people be a nation that follows the Persian revival and proclaims revival to the nations, awakening to the day of revival for all nations!
