[Today’s Prayer] “Aid Cuts, 131 Million Children Face Serious Famine”

Recently, major countries have reduced international aid, and support for malnourished children in Afghanistan, Gaza, and Somalia is at risk of being cut off, according to Save the Children, an international children’s rights NGO.

According to the UN World Food Programme (WFP), the number of children living in areas suffering from acute food crises worldwide is approximately 131 million. Aid cuts are affecting approximately 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East, and medical facilities and nutrition support centers are at risk of being closed on a large scale.

These medical facilities treated more than 134,000 children in January alone. A medical worker at a northern health center expressed concern, saying, “Our clinic is the only medical facility in the region. If support is cut off, hundreds of malnourished children will not be able to receive treatment.”

In the Gaza Strip, Palestine, about 1.1 million children are suffering from severe food shortages.

Somalia has been on the front lines of the climate crisis and has been suffering from severe hunger for decades. By April of this year, 4.4 million people, 20% of the population, will have to worry about their next meal.

Dear God, we see that support for malnourished children in Afghanistan, Gaza, and Somalia is in danger of being cut off due to recent reductions in international aid from major countries.

Apostle Paul preached the gospel to the weak by becoming the weak himself, and Jesus also abandoned the glory of heaven and went to the lowly and humble people of this world.

Please remember the children and souls in Afghanistan, Gaza, and Somalia who have been hungry and shedding tears for a long time due to unwanted war and poverty.

Please let the global church, which knows the heart and will of God, pray more for the children and souls who are in trouble and share what they have. So that they will not only be sufficiently supplied with the food and water they need, but also be granted the grace to meet Jesus who gives them the water of life that will never thirst.

May we see the children and souls in Afghanistan, Gaza, and Somalia no longer suffering and groaning in sin and darkness, but being restored as the holy bride of Jesus who rejoices only in Christ and eagerly awaits the return of Jesus.

Let us see the will of God, who uses the lowest and weakest people in the world to shame the strong, be fulfilled among all nations!
