Egypt and the Palestinian armed group Hamas have expressed their welcome to US President Donald Trump's statement that they will not expel residents from the Gaza Strip.

In a statement on the 13th (local time), the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "We highly value President Trump's statement that he will not ask the Gaza residents to leave the Gaza Strip."

He added, "It reflects an understanding that it is important to prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and to find a fair and sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue."

Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem also said in a statement, "If President Trump has retreated from the idea of relocating the Gaza residents, we welcome it," and "We should not sympathize with the Zionist (Israeli) far-right."

During the summit between President Trump and Irish Prime Minister Michal Martin at the White House the previous day, a reporter asked, "What is the President's plan for expelling Palestinians from the Gaza Strip?"

In response, President Trump replied, "No one is expelling Palestinians from the Gaza Strip."

Reuters evaluated that President Trump had "clearly retreated" from his previous Gaza Strip plan. The Israeli media outlet The Times of Israel also commented on this statement, saying, "For the first time, it has been made clear that Gaza residents will not be forced to leave their homes."

Earlier this month, the Arab League (AL) adopted a Gaza Strip reconstruction plan led by Egypt as an alternative to President Trump's plan, and gained support from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and major European countries.

This reconstruction plan is centered on rebuilding the war-ravaged Gaza Strip without expelling Palestinians, spending a total of $53 billion (approximately 77 trillion won) over five years.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water that I will give them will never thirst. The water that I will give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14)

We hear that Egypt and Hamas welcome US President Trump’s announcement that he will not expel Gaza residents from the existing Gaza plan.

As the plans of Trump and the Arab League regarding the future of the Gaza residents have been at odds, we pray that the Lord will assert all decisions and, above all, lead the lives of the Gaza residents to be restored.

Please provide time for the gospel to enter the poor hearts of the souls in Gaza who have been left in the middle of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, and may they gain ownership of the kingdom of God.

If we stop at reaching an agreement in the world, the situation may repeat itself, but if the global church unites in the word of the Lord and prays for the work to proceed, we believe that eternal peace will be granted to the thirsty hearts of the people of Gaza, like a spring of water that springs up to eternal life.

For this work, please spur the global church to pray and may the local churches in Palestine and Israel unite and take the lead in serving the people of Gaza.

In this way, please allow Gaza to be quickly restored and rebuilt, and evangelized, and fill and overflow Gaza with the water of life that springs from the hearts of the souls of the devastated Gaza.

May the Palestinian Gaza rise up as the last disciples to proclaim the eternal kingdom of God to the nations!
