[Today’s Prayer] Egypt prepares Gaza Strip reconstruction plan to replace Trump’s plan

The British daily Guardian reported on the 16th (local time) that Egypt, along with the World Bank, is preparing an alternative to US President Donald Trump's plan to turn the Palestinian Strip of Gaza into a US-owned 'Middle Eastern Riviera'.

This alternative is expected to include a support committee made up of Gaza officials and civic groups that will temporarily take charge of reconstruction and control, while excluding the Palestinian armed political group Hamas.

Arab countries plan to discuss this alternative prepared by Egypt and disclose some of its contents at the Arab Summit to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the 27th.

Arab countries, led by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar, are said to be preparing financial proposals to secure funds for reconstruction of the Gaza Strip under the premise that the right of Palestinians to reside in the Gaza Strip must be guaranteed.

Currently, about 65% of the Gaza Strip has been destroyed, and reconstruction is expected to take at least three to five years.

In this regard, Anwar Gargash, a senior diplomatic advisor to the United Arab Emirates, evaluated Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit's recent call for Hamas to step down from the Gaza Strip administration as "appropriate and reasonable."

Secretary-General Aboul Gheit said Trump's Palestinian relocation plan would threaten peace and stability in the region and argued that the interests of the Palestinians should take precedence over the interests of Hamas.

However, it is pointed out that the issue of Hamas' future military status has not yet been resolved and that this is likely to become an obstacle to gaining Israel's support.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has not ruled out alternatives to Trump's plan, but said a plan to keep Hamas in Gaza would be problematic because Israel would not tolerate it.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority (PA), which governs the West Bank, does not support Egypt's plan to establish a regional support committee in Gaza due to concerns about a permanent division between the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

An official from the Fatah party, the PA's leading political faction, said they had refused to discuss the establishment of a regional support committee for the Gaza Strip.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.” (Luke 4:18-19).

Dear God, we see that Egypt, together with the World Bank, is preparing an alternative to U.S. President Trump's plan to make the Gaza Strip in Palestine an American property, with a support committee made up of officials and civic groups from Gaza taking temporary charge of reconstruction and control while excluding the Palestinian armed political faction Hamas.

In particular, on the coming 27th, an Arab Summit will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to discuss alternatives prepared by Egypt.

May the Lord visit all Arab leaders who come to the Arab Summit and be with them during the conference, so that all problems can be solved not by the world's method of seeking its own benefit, but by the method of Jesus, who sacrificed himself for us.

We rely on Jesus, the true God of Palestine.

The reason Jesus came to this earth was to preach the gospel to the poor, to proclaim freedom to the captives, to proclaim recovery of sight to the blind, and to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor that sets the oppressed free.

Lord, we believe that when the Arab churches and global churches follow the mission of Jesus, the gospel will be preached to Palestinian refugees and the year of your grace that sets the poor, captives, blind, and oppressed free will be spread. In the last days when lawlessness abounds and love is growing cold, the Lord has preserved the Arab Church. Would uyou help the Arab churches not ignore the difficulties faced by Palestinian refugees and unite in prayer with the authority given to them by Jesus!

Therefore, in these last days of suffering, please help them become Palestinian refugees who discover God's dream of saving and restoring all nations through the Palestinian people.

May you allow Palestinian refugees to rise up as the final disciples that will live to see the revival of all nations. Wherever they go, may the gospel be spread and the Year of the Lord’s favor be proclaimed, and may we see all nations return to the Lord!
