[Today's Prayer] "Hamas Out!"... Angry Gaza Residents Take to the Streets with Courage

Hundreds of Palestinian civilians who oppose the occupation and rule of the Gaza Strip by the Palestinian armed group Hamas have taken to the streets of Gaza to hold an unusual protest demanding "Hamas' resignation." As internal discontent and division in the Gaza Strip surface, some are analyzing that the nature of the war with Israel may change.

According to local Israeli media outlets such as the Times of Israel and the Jerusalem Post on the 25th (local time), hundreds of people gathered in the streets of refugee camps located in Beitrahia and Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip and Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip to hold an anti-Hamas protest. They chanted slogans such as "Hamas Out" and "We Want to Eat" and held placards that read "Stop the War" and "We Refuse to Die." There are assessments that the number of Gaza residents who oppose Hamas rule has increased due to the war between Hamas and Israel that shows no signs of ending and the resulting famine.

Muhammad (pseudonym), who participated in the protest, said, "I don't know who planned the protest," but "I participated to send the message of 'Stop the war' on behalf of the people," AFP reported. Muhammad mentioned that he saw Hamas members in plainclothes at the scene attempting to disperse the protesters. Another protester, Majdi, said, "People are tired," and asked, "If Hamas giving up power in Gaza is the solution, why doesn't Hamas give up power for the people?"

We hear news that hundreds of civilians in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, have protested to demand the resignation of the armed group Hamas.

The suffering of the Palestinians has continued for over 17 months amid the protracted war, and in order to prevent further sacrifices, Hamas must eventually step down.

Lord, the beloved Palestinians are crying and shouting with weary hearts amid the war. Please listen to the groans of those who have lost hope, are starving, and are in pain.

Also, please hold the Palestinian church in the midst of all these difficulties with your hand and strengthen their faith to look to you until the end.

Living Lord, the Palestinians want to see the end of the war and are calling for Hamas to step down in order to live, but we confess that eternal life is only in the one and only God and Jesus Christ whom He sent.

For this truth, may the global church come together in solidarity to care for the pain and suffering of the Palestinians and to convey to them the love of Jesus Christ, the true life.

Through the prayers and service of the global church, may the Palestinians know that Jesus Christ is the only way to life, the true life, and the hope!

So now, may the Palestinians rise up as those who place their hope in the eternal kingdom of God where there is no more mourning, crying, or pain, and prepare the way for the Lord’s return!
