[Today’s Prayer] “Hezbollah begins to participate”… Fighting at the Lebanese border intensifies

While Israel is carrying out ground operations in the Gaza Strip to eradicate the Palestinian armed political faction Hamas, tensions are rising along the northern Lebanon border as fighting between Israel and the pro-Iranian armed political faction Hezbollah intensifies.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a TV speech on the 7th (local time), “Hezbollah has begun to participate in the war,” and “they are making the mistake of a lifetime.”

At the same time, he targeted Hezbollah and warned, “We will never tolerate harm to our citizens,” and “if they do, we will retaliate with fire.”

Hezbollah is also increasing its level of retaliation as casualties from Israeli attacks increase.

Senior Hezbollah official Ali Fayyad emphasized at the funeral of three children and their grandmother killed in an Israeli airstrike that day, “We will resist by responding twice as much to any attack targeting civilians."

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that on the same day, about 30 rockets were launched from Lebanon targeting northern Israel, and that they shelled the launch site in response.

Since the outbreak of this armed conflict, more than 60 Hezbollah members and 10 civilians have been killed on the Lebanese side, and at least 7 soldiers and 1 civilian have been killed on the Israeli side.

As the fighting between the two sides intensifies, some say that a 'second front' has actually opened, following the Gaza Strip.

Father God who loves all nations,

At a time when we are praying together every day about the situation between Israel and Palestine, we hear that the Islamic militant group Hezbollah has also joined the war and the fighting between the two countries has intensified further.

Hezbollah's stationed area is the border of Lebanon, and it is not considered as the 'second front' after the Gaza Strip, and in fact, Lebanese souls have lost their lives in this armed conflict.

Lord, we are so heartbroken upon hearing this news and how much more does your heart ache looking at them?

We want to share in your heart more that we may pray together as your church.

Lord, please shine the light of life of Jesus Christ upon the souls of Palestine, Israel, and Lebanon who are dying under the dark shadow of death.

May they be the people who boldly approach the throne of grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, to receive grace to help in time of need.

May all the lies that deceive them be brought low before the truth of Jesus Christ, and may only the Lord be enthroned as the King of this land.

For this purpose, churches all around the world unite to come before the Lord that your will may be done.

Father God, who is full of compassion and mercy, who sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, out of love for all nations, may you work quickly in the land of Israel, Palestine, and Lebanon!
