On the 1st, the Iranian parliament adopted a new 'chastity and hijab' law that further strengthens the existing dress regulations.

CNN reported that the 'hijab and chastity bill' that is intended to force women to wear the hijab passed the parliament on the 1st (local time) and is now awaiting only the president's approval on the 4th.

The 'hijab and chastity bill' can impose a prison sentence of 5 to 10 years and a fine of 180 million to 360 million rials (about 5.1 million to 10.35 million won) on those who wear inappropriate clothing in public places or violate the dress code four or more times. Women who do not wear the hijab properly or owners of cars that carry such women can also be fined.

Iranian President Masoud Pezekian expressed his opposition to the bill. He admitted on his social media that “the president’s signing of bills in Iran is largely ceremonial, so there is little room for me to block them,” but added that, “This law is vague. We must not do anything that disrupts social harmony and empathy.”

An incident in September 2022, when 22-year-old Iranian woman Mahsa Amini died under suspicious circumstances after being arrested by police for not wearing the hijab properly, sparked nationwide protests. More than 500 people died during these nationwide protests.

And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (1 John 5:11)

We hear the sad news that a bill to force women to wear the hijab in Iran has passed the parliament and is now waiting for the president's approval.

Please do not let the souls of Iran sit idly by as the Iranian government, which has been ignoring the protests against the hijab for over two years since September 2022 and has killed over 500 people, is instead shaking hands with the oppression of Iranian women.

Please let us speak out against the fact that beloved mothers, wives, older sisters, and younger sisters, because they were born female, are being forced to do things that other Islamic countries do not do, and that beating them and imposing imprisonment and fines for slightly removing their hijabs in public places is not the way it should be and a clear violation of freedom.

Please let the Holy Spirit lead the Iranian government to repent these sins, and may the lies of Islam be revealed soon, so that the veil of darkness that has covered Iran may be lifted swiftly.

Please let the souls of Iran realize that Jehovah God gives each person a gifting and uses every member to build the kingdom of God, and that He crucified His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to give them eternal life.

Please let the Iranian church stand up and testify to the gospel of Jesus, who frees Iranian women in the truth and loves everyone to the end, and now pray that the evil laws that originated from Islam will be abolished and that the kingdom of God will come to Iran.

Please let the global church work together for this work, condemning the Iranian government’s evil deeds both inside and outside Iran, and make every effort to save Iranian souls.

So, please let the day come quickly when Iranian women will wear holy attire instead of a hijab and welcome their bridegroom, Jesus, so that along with the revival in Iran, the revival in Persia will spread to the nations! May they be used as a people who will become the brides of Jesus Christ!
