Members of the Sunni Islamic State terrorist group have kidnapped dozens of people in central Syria, some of whom have been found with their bodies slashed, according to civil war monitoring groups and pro-government media.

The U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on March 25 that IS fighters kidnapped 23 people and killing at least 15 of them, according to The Associated Press. Today, many are seeing resurgence of civil unrest by waging guerrilla warfare against Kurdish militias, government forces, and civilians, or by carrying out sporadic terrorism.

The pro-government Siamese FM radio station also reported that extremists attacked truffle-gathering farmers in rural eastern Hama province, killing some of the kidnapped.

Truffles, in particular, are a seasonal ingredient that can be sold at high prices, and most of the gatherers live in groups in remote areas, leading to IS attacks which seek for a ransom, the news agency said.

Last month, IS fighters attacked civilians looking for truffles near the village of Sukhna in central Syria's Palmyra region, killing at least 53 people.

Lord, would you expose all theories and ideas of every enemy against the cross! All that are exalting themselves above You Lord, pierce the head of the enemy who leads into the valley of death with the sword of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God!

Though on earth there is nothing and this land is like an outcast, in the kingdom of God arise as a nation that has all things, and exalt the name of Jesus, the only Savior! Especially at the beginning of Ramadan this year, please pour out your thirst of truth to all Muslims and may this be a time of God's grace and a day of salvation.

Open the doors of heaven and pour out Your Spirit afresh to set this nation free from all suffering and oppression! May this nation rise up as a nation with joy instead of sorrow, praise instead of worry, and eternal hope of heaven.
