As the number of deaths from the Myanmar earthquake exceeded 3,000, rescue efforts continued in Myanmar with support from the international community.
According to foreign media outlets such as AFP on the 3rd, the Myanmar military government announced that 3,085 people died and 4,715 were injured in the earthquake. The number of missing people was 341.
Zaw Min Tun, a military government spokesperson, said that 17 countries had dispatched rescue teams and 1,000 tons of relief supplies were provided, adding, "We express our special gratitude to the international community and medical staff."
So far, China, Russia, India, and neighboring Southeast Asian countries have sent rescue teams.
China has responded most actively, pledging to provide 100 million yuan (approximately 20 billion won) worth of relief supplies and sending 500 rescue workers to Myanmar.

The military government also announced on state broadcast that day that it plans to resume domestic flights at the capital Naypyidaw and the second largest city Mandalay Airport, which were closed due to the earthquake.
Mandalay Airport will resume operations at 6:00 AM on the 4th and Naypyidaw Airport at 6:00 AM on the 5th, local time.
There are also expectations that the reopening of the airports will ease relief supplies.
A magnitude 7.7 earthquake occurred near Mandalay in central Myanmar on the 28th of last month, destroying thousands of buildings, bridges, and roads.
Xinhua News Agency reported, citing Myanmar's meteorological authorities, that 66 aftershocks of magnitude 2.8 to 7.5 occurred as of this morning.
As the aftershocks continue, local residents and rescue teams are struggling to save at least one more survivor, despite limitations due to a lack of equipment and medical supplies.
The day before, a man was rescued from the rubble of a collapsed hotel in Mandalay City after about 125 hours, but the news of miraculous survival is gradually decreasing.
Rescue conditions are becoming increasingly difficult due to the heat and bad weather, such as rain, with temperatures soaring to nearly 40 degrees Celsius.
The World Health Organization (WHO) warned that there is a risk of epidemic diseases such as cholera, malaria, and dengue fever spreading in the earthquake-stricken area.
Additional damage is expected as rain is forecast for the capital Naypyidaw and the second largest city, Mandalay, from the 6th to the 11th. Rescue officials expressed concern, saying, "Many people are still buried, and if it rains, survivors could drown."

They themselves tell about us, how we came to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and how you wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who rescues us from the wrath to come (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10)
We hear the sad news that the death toll from the Myanmar earthquake has exceeded 3,000, and there is concern that cholera and other infectious diseases will spread in the earthquake-stricken areas due to the heat and rain, which are soaring to nearly 40 degrees Celsius.
Lord, you know how many families are spending every night in tears because of the disaster that occurred at a time when the situation in Myanmar is unstable due to the civil war between the military and rebels.
Living and true God and the resurrected Jesus who rose from the dead, please meet the souls of Myanmar at this time and save them with the power of life so that they can be saved not only from the present hardship but also from the future wrath.
Let the idols that have been the masters of Myanmar realize that they have no power at all through this earthquake, and let only the God who saves become the sovereign of Myanmar so that Myanmar can be rescued and healed quickly.
For this work, please make the ASEAN church and the global church including China, Russia, and India work harder to send rescue teams to Myanmar, and above all, pray for the hearts of the impoverished souls of Myanmar and send those who will plant the Word.
In this way, may Myanmar become a nation that waits for and welcomes the coming of Jesus, who will spread the gospel of life to ASEAN and the world!
