[Today's Prayer] Pakistan, Another Airstrike on Rebel Hideouts Across the Afghan Border

AP reported on the 25th (local time) that the Pakistani military directly attacked the hideouts of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) across the border in Afghanistan, citing an anonymous security official.

According to this, the Pakistani military attacked several mountainous areas in the Fatika Province in southeastern Afghanistan, bordering northern Pakistan. These are believed to be hideouts and training facilities for the TTP.

They also claimed that many civilians, including children, were among the casualties from the attacks. They went on to warn that the attacks violated international law and could not be the solution to any problems, and that they would retaliate.

This is not the first time that Pakistan has directly attacked Afghanistan, claiming to be attacking the TTP.

Pakistan also carried out bombings in southeastern Afghanistan in March, claiming to be attacking the TTP, killing eight civilians.

In retaliation, Afghanistan attacked Pakistani troops in the border area, greatly increasing tensions between the two countries.

The TTP, which is a source of conflict between the two countries, is a coalition of Islamic militant groups that aims to overthrow the Pakistani government and establish a state based on Sharia (Islamic law).

They are a separate organization from the Taliban that has taken control of Afghanistan. However, the Pakistani government suspects that the Afghan Taliban is providing TTP with hideouts in Afghanistan and helping TTP frequently cross the border to carry out terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
