[Today's Prayer] Pakistan "Considers it an act of war and will respond comprehensively" to India's threat to block the Indus River

When India pointed to Pakistan as the culprit behind the shooting incident at a resort in northern Kashmir and raised the possibility of blocking the Indus River flowing into Pakistan, Pakistan declared that it would consider this an act of war and announced a comprehensive response.

According to Hindustan Times and other sources on the 25th (local time), the Pakistani government "strongly rejected” the day before India's declaration that it would suspend the effect of the 'Indus River Treaty' and warned that any attempt to block or divert the tributaries allocated to Pakistan would be considered an 'act of war' and that it would "respond with a comprehensive response across the entire national capacity."

The Indus River Treaty is a treaty signed between the two countries in 1960 through World Bank mediation. According to this treaty, India will not block the flow of the Indus River tributaries flowing from India to Pakistan.

Pakistan relies on the Indus River tributaries for 80% of its water resources, and if this water is cut off, hydroelectric power generation will be halted, and agriculture will suffer greatly due to a shortage of irrigation water.

Pakistan also decided to ban Indian-owned or Indian-operated airlines from entering its airspace and to suspend all trade with India, including trade via third countries.

Some fear that a military conflict could break out between the two countries.

In a speech the previous day, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned that the terrorists would be pursued to the ends of the earth and punished, and that "both those who carried out this attack and those who planned it will pay an unimaginable price."

In response, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said in a media interview, "If India takes physical action, we will respond with the same intensity."

8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. 9 For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. (Psalm 37:8-9)

God, India has pointed to Pakistan as the perpetrator of the shooting incident at a resort in northern Kashmir and declared that it will suspend the Indus River Treaty in order to block the flow of the Indus River into Pakistan.

The Pakistani government regards this situation as an 'act of war' and is trying to respond to it.

Lord, India and Pakistan continue to oppose each other and have a heart of hatred. May all the anger that bind India and Pakistan be broken, and may they let go of their bitterness!

We believe that our Lord already knows all the situations in India-Pakistan and can solve them.

Lord! Please open all the doors that have been blocking India-Pakistan for a long time!

May there be no military conflicts and grant them peace so that they can become a people who live hoping in the Lord.

May they do no evil to each other,

and lead them to the path that is best in Your eyes!

Rather than being eager to occupy the land of the earth, let the Indian-Pakistani people take hold of the kingdom of God and the nations.

May you now use the churches in India-Pakistan to fulfill Your will.

Please let the Indian-Pakistani churches know the heart of Jesus and serve.

Please use them as a vessel that moves onward with the hope in the Kingdom of God.

At last, may they rise up as your holy army that will carry out the Great Commission of the kingdom of God.

May they become a people that goes out to all nations, making disciples, planting churches, and preparing the way of the Lord’s return!!
