[Today’s Prayer] Relief supplies that fell from the sky... Hundreds of Gaza residents fight

The American daily New York Times (NYT) reported on the 27th (local time) that the international community is mobilizing 'the last resort' of dropping relief goods from the air to help the Gaza Strip, Palestine, where the humanitarian crisis has reached its peak due to a war that has lasted for several months.

Jordanian military authorities announced on this day that they had carried out an operation to airdrop relief supplies in the coastal area of the Gaza Strip along with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, and France.

This is the first time that Egypt and the UAE have participated in a relief air operation in the Gaza Strip since the outbreak of war in October last year.

Jordan reported that Jordanian and French aircraft airdropped relief goods, including instant food, to various areas in the Gaza Strip the previous day.

The day before, a video of relief supplies falling by parachute into the sea near Deir al-Bala, a city in central Gaza, was posted on social media such as hundreds of people were seen flocking to the beach to get relief supplies, with some people going out in small boats to retrieve relief supplies from the sea.

Ala Fayad, a veterinary college student who took the video, told the NYT that the amount of relief supplies that fell that day was not that large, adding, "It was sad to see people I know well rushing to get the desperately insufficient amount of relief supplies."

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that on the day the video was filmed, the French Air Force plane that participated in the delivery of relief goods dropped more than 2 tons of food and hygiene products.

Not only is this far less than what one relief truck can deliver, but it is also far short of the amount that the United Nations (UN) says is needed for the 2 million people living in Gaza.

Last week, the World Food Program suspended relief efforts in northern Gaza.

WFP has been complaining that access to the northern part of the Gaza Strip is difficult due to obstruction by the Israeli military, and that it has recently become impossible to safely supply food as gunfights and breakdowns in order have become more severe.

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” (Luke 15:4-7)

Although it is dangerous to fly an aircraft over a conflict area, and there is a risk of collision with people on the ground if it lands incorrectly, the humanitarian situation is urgent, so the airdrop operation of relief goods is accelerating.

Please increase the number of places where relief goods can be delivered to those dying from famine and disease, so that more needed relief goods can be delivered, and may the ongoing war be brought to an end as soon as possible.

There are those who are poor in spirit and thirsty due to war need the gospel. Heavenly Father, who searches for one lost sheep until it is found, would you allow the gospel to be spread to them through dreams and visions and in various ways.

Please allow the final work of revival in the last days of famine and earthquakes, with nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom.
